Robert Patrick is an American actor. His roles include Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Striptease, The Men Who Stare at Goats, Walk the Line, and many other films, and series.
His brother, Richard Patrick, is the singer of rock band Filter. Robert is married to actress Barbara Hooper, with whom he has two children.
He is a devout Episcopalian. All of his grandparents had deep roots in the U.S., three of them in the deep South, and one in New England.
He has stated:
I’m a Southern boy. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, a Scots Irishman. My family came over on the Mayflower, the Lamark family in Scotland and the Wallace clan.
And also:
My first [favorite] film would be Braveheart. I love that film. I have Scots-Irish ancestry, and I was very intrigued with it. I’m actually a part of the Wallace clan on my grandmother’s side, so I was very intrigued with the portrayal of William Wallace, even though I’m not a direct descendant.
Robert’s paternal grandfather was Samuel Patrick, Jr. (the son of Samuel Patrick, Sr. and Susan Louisa Applin). Robert’s grandfather Samuel was born in Keene, New Hampshire. Robert’s great-grandfather Samuel was the son of Norman William Patrick and Sarah Elizabeth Purdy. Susan was the daughter of Charles Randolph Applin and Selina A. Bourne.
Robert’s paternal grandmother was Sybil Rushing Wallace (the daughter of Thomas Victor Wallace and Lillie Cathey Rushing). Sybil was born in Sayre, Arkansas. Thomas was the son of John Thomas Wallace, whose father was born in Ireland, and of Elvira Letitia Hawkins. Lillie was the daughter of William Milton Rushing and Ophelia Dionetia Jones.
Robert’s maternal grandfather was Chesley Everett Hammond (the son of William Henry Hammond and Alpha Elizabeth Kelly). Chesley was born in Forsyth, Georgia. William was the son of Henry Thomas Hammond and Saphrona Martin. Alpha was the daughter of John Allan Kelly and Louvisa A. Dooly.
Robert’s maternal grandmother was Laura Mae Bramblett (the daughter of Elijah William Bramblett and Mary Ann Pugh). Laura was born in Forsyth, Georgia. Elijah was the son of James W. Bramblett and Catherine E. Craig. Mary was the daughter of Isaac David Pugh and Nellie L. Samples.
